Simon Bacon. MSc. MA. DO. ND. Director Osteopath

Simon managing Director and Principal Clinician at Bacon & Associates. He graduated from the British College of Osteopathic Medicine (BCOM) in 1992 and is one of the most experienced Osteopaths in the Colchester area. He is a lecturer in Osteopathic diagnosis, Osteopathic technique at the British College of Osteopathic Medicine (BCOM) in London.  He has an interest in the psychology of health and well-being, and has a Masters Degree in Transpersonal Psychology and Consciousness Studies from Northampton University where he researched the role of Spirituality in healthcare. On graduation he was awarded the Best Student Commendation Award.

 

Simon is a member of the General Osteopathic Council, Transpersonal Section of the British Psychological Society, British Medical Acupuncture Society (BMAS) and has practiced Medical Acupuncture for over 20 years. He has published research with the International Journal of Osteopathic Medicine. He is on the clinic / teaching faculty at the British College of Osteopathic Medicine in London. MA. BSc (Hons) Ost. Med.ND Director Osteopath

Thorunn is co-director of the practice and has over 25 years experience as an Osteopath. She has an Honours Degree in Osteopathic Medicine, and a Diploma in Naturopathy.
Thorunn worked in the NHS for many years on the Back and Neck pain pathway and has wide experience in treating complex spinal problems. She has practiced pain relief acupuncture for over 20 years and is registered with the British Medical Acupuncture Society.


She has a special interest in women's health, particularly the menopause and how it affects women's health, bone strength and density. She has a website yourlovelybones.com where she gives advice how to keep strong and fit during and after the menopause. Being one of our most experienced practitioners Thorunn is able to offer a wide range of treatments to suit your needs.

Andy Bacon. B.Ost. Associate Osteopath

Andy Bacon qualified with Masters degree, from the British School of Osteopathy (BSO), now known as the University College of Osteopathy (UCO).
With an extensive background in Personal Training and Massage therapy stemming over 11 years, Andy has spent most of his working life, on board cruise liners going around the world and most recently working in central London, combining Osteopathy with exercise rehabilitation.


Andy has a Passion for Anatomy and Physiology and takes great pride in his work. His motto is ‘I recognise the body’s ability to heal, and it is my job to put the body into the best environment to allow that to happen’
Treatment from Andy will also involve an element of movement patterns and exercise where necessary, to either hasten the healing process or to strengthen weakened areas to avoid a repeat episode. When Andy is not working, he will be reading, playing football or enjoying a round of golf. Obviously not at the same time.

Georgia Simmons MOst. Associate Osteopath

Georgia graduated from the European School of Osteopathy in 2017 with a masters in Osteopathy. During her last year of study she undertook a course in western medical acupuncture to coincide with Osteopathy.

 

Georgia enjoys treating a wide range of patients, including expectant mothers, sports injuries and the elderly. Being a keen horsewoman Georgia has a particular interest in treating horse and rider and how the biomechanics of the horse and rider can interrelate with one and other. Since 2020 Georgia qualified in this specialist field as an equine and canine osteopath. 

Jamie Acres BSc.OSt.Med. Associate Osteopath

Jamie graduated from the British College of Osteopathic Medicine where he excelled in Osteopathic treatment and clinical management, he joined the practice in 2018 and has developed a strong following of patients. Jamie has also completed courses in dry needling (acupuncture) and functional exercise and CBT for pain, to complement his treatment. 

Izzy Sagnella. Massage Therapist

Izzy is an experienced massage therapist, who has trained in a number of different types of massage therapies, such as Deep Tissue Massage, Aromatherapy and Hot Stone massage. She has been working in the industry for 6 years and last year spent a year in Australia working in a number of spas and clinics. Izzy works closely with our other therapists so clients will have a tailored treatment.
