Introducing new and more extensive Food Intolerance test.

If you suspect that the foods that you are eating are affecting your health, having a Food Intolerance test done is very useful. A Food Intolerance test will be able to identify the ‘problem’ foods that could be causing you problems, and by eliminating those foods, your health will improve.

Common symptoms caused by Food Intolerances are:

  • Bloating and a variety digestive problems such as IBS
  • Weight gain
  • Fatigue and lack of energy
  • Headaches, migraines
  • Skin problems such as eczema
  • Aches and pains in muscles and joints

Food intolerance, sometimes called food sensitivity, can happen when your body reacts adversely to certain foods. Often the foods that we include regularly in our diet or the foods we crave are the ones causing us problems. Research has shown that food intolerances can be linked to IgG antibodies produced when these ‘problem’ foods are eaten. Normally these antibodies do not cause any ill effects, but if the immune system and the gut lining are not working properly, symptoms can be caused.

The Food Intolerance test used in the clinic analyses IgG antibody reactions to 208 foods. A small pin-prick of blood is taken in the clinic and sent off to the laboratory, and results will arrive within 5 days via email to you. You’ll get a full report of the foods that you have reacted to. Reactions are marked in green, amber and red, depending on the severity of your reaction.

It’s recommended that you don’t eliminate any foods that you think you may be sensitive to for at least 1 week prior to the test, in order for the results to be more accurate.

The test is suitable from 12 years old.
