Food Intolerance Testing

Is your food making you ill?

Is your food making you ill? A simple pin-prick blood test can accurately identify the foods that could be causing you problems.

If you suspect that the foods that you are eating are affecting your health, having a Food Intolerance test done is very useful. A Food Intolerance test will be able to identify the ‘problem’ foods that could be causing you problems, and by eliminating those foods, your health will improve.

Common symptoms caused by Food Intolerances are:

  • Bloating and a variety digestive problems such as IBS
  • Weight gain
  • Fatigue and lack of energy
  • Headaches, migraines
  • Skin problems such as eczema
  • Aches and pains in muscles and joints

Food intolerance, sometimes called food sensitivity, can happen when your body reacts adversely to certain foods. Often the foods that we include regularly in our diet or the foods we crave are the ones causing us problems. Research has shown that food intolerances can be linked to IgG antibodies produced when these ‘problem’ foods are eaten. Normally these antibodies do not cause any ill effects, but if the immune system and the gut lining are not working properly, symptoms can be caused. The food Intolerance test used in the clinic is made by Cambridge Nutritional Sciences, CNS, a British Company which is at the forefront of research into Food Tolerance and Allergies globally. It is the most trusted brand of Food Intolerance Testing in the UK. The test used is a highly accurate Enzyme Linked Immunoassay that detects food- specific antibodies. A simple pin-prick blood test (ELISA) method is used which ascertains whether you are intolerant to certain foods or not.

Once the test is done, you’ll get a report of the foods that you have reacted to, and we will discuss which foods need to be eliminated. I will support you during this process and help you find foods to substitute the ones you reduce or stop eating. There might be issues with your immune system or the state of your gut lining that have to be addressed, and I will advise you on that. You may need certain vitamins or supplements, and again, I’ll also advice you on that.
