Osteopathy is a tried and tested treatment of musculo-skeletal disorders, and its holistic approach ensures that all treatments are tailored to the individual patient; their problem and their lifestyle.

Osteopathy uses  many of the diagnostic procedures applied in conventional medical assessment, osteopaths seek to restore the optimal functioning of the body, where possible without the use of drugs or surgery.

All our practitioners are fully qualified and belong to the General Osteopathic  Council.

Osteopathy is based on the principle that the body has an intrinsic ability to heal, and osteopathic care focuses on strengthening the musculo-skeletal systems to treat existing conditions and to prevent illness.

Osteopaths have a  patient-centered approach to health and well being  which  means that they consider symptoms in the context of the patient’s full medical history as well as their lifestyle and personal circumstances. Osteopathy is based on the principle that the body has an intrinsic ability to heal, and osteopathic care focuses on strengthening the musculo-skeletal systems to treat existing conditions and to prevent illness.

Corrective exercises are important in managing pain and correcting poor posture as well as improving strength.  Using core stability training similar to pilates, the muscle activity at the center of the body is improved which has been shown to reduce pain and improve mobility. Without adequate core stability, the lower back is not supported from inside and can be injured by even the simplest of movements.

When appropriate, our patients are given advice on core muscle stability and a tailored personal exercise program by the practitioner.
